Leadership Workshops that change how your team actually works

We run intensive, facilitator-led programs for managers who want to stop guessing and start leading with clarity. Based in Tasmania, delivered where you need us.

Most leadership training disappears within a week

What usually happens

Your team attends a one-day seminar. They take notes, nod along, maybe fill out a workbook. Two weeks later, nothing has changed. The same communication breakdowns persist. Delegation stays unclear. Meetings run long without decisions.

Generic content makes generic leaders. Slides about "vision" and "synergy" rarely survive contact with a Monday morning inbox.

What we do differently

Our workshops use scenarios drawn from your organisation. Before we walk into the room, we interview your stakeholders and review your actual challenges. Participants practise difficult conversations with coached role-play, not hypotheticals from a textbook.

Every session ends with a written action plan. We follow up at 30 and 60 days to see what stuck and what needs adjusting.

Four workshops, each built for a different stage

Foundations of leadership

2 days, in-person

Designed for people stepping into their first management role. We cover expectation-setting with direct reports, running productive one-on-ones, giving feedback that people can actually use, and recognising when to coach versus when to direct. Participants leave with a 90-day leadership plan tailored to their team size and industry.

Conflict and difficult conversations

1 day, in-person or virtual

This workshop focuses on the conversations most managers avoid: performance issues, interpersonal friction, and resistance to change. We use recorded role-play so participants can watch themselves back and identify patterns. The afternoon session covers de-escalation techniques for high-emotion situations.

Strategic thinking for mid-level leaders

3 half-days, virtual cohort

Aimed at managers who already handle day-to-day operations well but struggle to think beyond the quarter. Participants work through a live strategic challenge from their own business, present their analysis to the cohort, and receive structured peer feedback. We limit cohorts to twelve people so everyone gets airtime.

Executive presence intensive

1 day, in-person

For senior leaders preparing for board presentations, media appearances, or high-stakes negotiations. We work with a communication coach and a former broadcast journalist. The day includes on-camera practice, voice projection exercises, and structured Q&A drills. Each participant receives a private video review with written notes.

How a typical engagement runs

Discovery conversation

A 45-minute call where we learn about your team structure, the specific leadership gaps you see, and what success looks like for you. No slides, no sales pitch.

Custom design

We build the workshop content around your real scenarios. If you have employee survey data or 360 feedback, we incorporate those themes directly into exercises.

Delivery and practice

Facilitator-led sessions with a maximum of 16 participants. Heavy on practice, light on lecture. Every participant gets individual coaching moments during the day.

Follow-through

At 30 and 60 days post-workshop, we check in with each participant and their manager. We track which action items landed and offer a booster session if needed.

Built by facilitators, not consultants

Our lead facilitators have spent a combined 35 years inside organisations before moving into leadership development. That means they have sat through the same pointless meetings, managed the same resistant team members, and navigated the same budget constraints your managers face.

We are not academics theorising about leadership from a lecture hall. Our programs come from years of trial and error in healthcare administration, logistics, local government, and professional services. When a participant pushes back on an exercise, our facilitators can draw on their own failures to make the point land.

Leadership Champion Courses operates from Tasmania but delivers workshops across Australia. We have run sessions in Hobart, Launceston, Melbourne, Brisbane, and remotely for distributed teams spanning multiple time zones.

Things people ask before booking

We cap in-person sessions at 16 participants. Virtual cohorts are limited to 12. These numbers let every person practise, receive feedback, and ask questions without running out of time. If you have a larger group, we split into parallel sessions with separate facilitators.

Yes. We regularly travel to mainland Australia. Travel costs are quoted separately and depend on location and group size. Virtual delivery is also available for all four programs.

It is a 45-minute conversation, usually with the HR lead or the sponsoring executive. We ask about team structure, current pain points, any previous training that did or did not work, and what measurable outcomes you want. There is no obligation after this call.

Every participant gets a digital workbook, their personal action plan, and access to a private resource library with templates for one-on-ones, feedback conversations, and meeting agendas. For the Executive Presence Intensive, they also receive their recorded practice sessions.

We recommend six to eight weeks of lead time for in-person workshops, since we need time for stakeholder interviews and content customisation. Virtual cohorts can sometimes be arranged in four weeks. If you have an urgent need, reach out and we will see what we can do.
